Conference Time

A few weeks ago, I picked a KC-49rs Super Bowl, so the only question is how much I think each of them will win by this weekend. KC-7 over Tennessee is an easy pick for me. I’m less confident in laying 7-1/2 with the 49rs, but they did destroy Green Bay already this season, so I’m going with it. Give me the two favorites and let’s get to Super Sunday.

I don’t think the earlier game between 49ers and Packers is indicative of today’s outcome, and I have been reminded that with the Patriots out my rooting focus is now with the Packers (wife). So, I pick the Packers outright to win and the Chiefs to cover with a win.

I couldn’t tell you, it’s the only Super Bowl I missed entirely since I was a kid. Had a huge licensing test for work the next day and spent the evening in the Boston Public Library studying for it. Wasn’t hard to figure out what happened in the game when I emerged onto Copley Square that night.

“I have been reminded”. I love that!

It was still during the Sox curse, still during the ineptitude of the patriots, hopes were dashed in the ’85 season SB by those Bears. I don’t think expectations were high to beat the Packers that year. Brady and Belichick exposed what could be possible, the Sox piggybacked on it and have 4 new flags. 1997 loss to the Packers, meh, who knows, maybe the fortunes of both teams would have been different.
